Photoglobe-mascot will be selected by a jury

The voting competition for the photoglobe-mascot has brought countless emails and triggered fierce discussions. Due to lack of fairness, it was even necessary to intervene in the voting procedure. Obviously, this was annoying for those users who took voting seriously and genuinely wanted to pick a winner.

After careful consideration, we have now decided that a jury will select the photoglobe-mascot. Against the above background, this seems to be the most reasonable approach. The jury will, of course, take into account the assessments by users.

It is no longer possible to upload new proposals for the photoglobe-mascot, and no more votes can be cast. We will present the photoglobe-mascot on 21 September 2010 at photokina and on this portal.

WANTED! PHOTOGLOBE MASCOT FOR PHOTOKINA 2010

Triggered by “Paulchen” – little Paul, the cute doggy – many users of www.photoglobus.prophoto-online.de now want a Photoglobe mascot for photokina 2010. We think this is an excellent idea, because a mascot is a good luck charm.

All users are invited to make their own proposals for a mascot for the world’s largest Photoglobe at photokina 2010 or to vote on proposals posted by other users on the Photoglobe website.

There are no limits to creativity for your proposals. A Photoglobe mascot can be a pet like “Paulchen”, a larger animal or a comic-style fantasy creature. Obviously, the organizers would like the Photoglobe mascot to have a strong connection with photography – just like the globe.
